1. Eiger Ultra Trail - harder than the North Face solo
Grindelwald is about to launch the Eiger Ultra Trail and with it the first Ultra Trail in the Bernese Oberland. The race with the staging locationsGrosse Scheidegg, First, the Faulhorn Mountain Guest House, Schynige Platte, Wengen, Männlichen, Kleine Scheidegg and the traverse along the base of the Eiger North Face is not only spectacular but also a fantastic and unforgettable alpine experience.
The trail E101 with 101 kilometers and 6700 meters in height will be a challenge to all competitors. Ueli Steck our local matador and Event-Ambassador is convinced: "Personally, I believe that the Eiger Ultra Trail will be tougher than the solo attempt of the Eiger North Face....." And this despite the possibility to stop over at the guest house on the Faulhorn at 2680 m and the Mountain Award that can be won there.
The trail E51also leads to the Faulhorn and rewards you with the best panorama view of the surrounding mountains before continuing on towards the Schynige Platte. The 51 kilometers are for single athletes and couples likewise – no matter what combination.
The trail E16 is suitable for all new comers to trail running. It leads you through the forest and small gorges and over lush meadows. We warmly welcome you to the foot hills of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau and to the Jungfrau-Aletsch UNESCO World Nature Heritage.
